Peach, Pecan, and Honey Bourbon

What you need to do

What you need:

-  2 to 2.5 Cups of Bourbon (I use Maker's Mark)

-  2 small peaches (peeled and sliced)

- 1/2 Cup of Pecans

-  1/2 Cup of Honey

-  Quart-sized Mason jar, with lid and ring

What you do:

Start by peeling the peaches, remove the pit and slice the peaches.  Place the peaches in the mason jar, add the Pecans and then the Honey.  Next, cover the ingredients with Bourbon.  A note about the bourbon.  It is up to you, which bourbon you use.  I like to use a little higher quality bottle, like Maker's Mark.  I, personally, would stay away from the low-end bottles, as they can be so boozy-tasting.  I also wouldn't go too high-end, staying with something in the middle.

Place the lid on the jar, tighten down with the ring, and let it sit in Frig for 5 days.  After 5 days, strain off the fruit and nuts.  Store the liquor in the frig.  I recommend a decanter, in the frig

Extra Flair:  Save the strained fruit, draining it well, but don't squeeze out any liquid.  Place in a ziplock bag, in a single, flat layer, doing your best to not have any of the peach slices touch any other.  Freeze the peaches in that single, flat layer.

Happy Hour

Serving Suggestions:  There are many ways to serve this.  Consider adding a mixer and make a Whiskey-coke, or some variation.  Drink it straight, since it is chilled, it goes down pretty easy.  You can use it as the base for an Old Fashion of a Manhattan too.  If choosing to serve up, or in a Old Fashion/Manhattan, instead of ice, use the frozen peach slices instead.
